====== Mission Statement ====== Since 1987, the CRP Henri Tudor contributes to the improvement and strengthening of the innovation capacity of enterprises and public organisations. The Health Care Technology department “CR SANTEC” is focused on the improvement of health care and social services by the use of innovative technologies (e.g. Telemonitoring, eHealth). SANTEC has a long-standing experience in biomedical research. The improvement of communication between health-professionals and patients is one of the core activities of the interdisciplinary research team. SANTEC researchers work on biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, medical imaging, ontologies and computer aided decision support as well as on the evaluation of health technologies and their impact on public health (e.g. clinical outcome, quality of life, health related costs). These activities are conducted in two research units: Advanced Health Informatics (AHI) and Biomedical Engineering and Public Health (BEPH). ====== Key Competencies ====== SANTEC's activities attract researchers, engineers and students from multiple professional disciplines within the health care informatics domain. SANTEC's research and development competences can be categorized into one of the following areas listed below and are further enhanced by complementary expertise coming from our national or international partners. * Advanced ICT applied to health care * Bio-informatics * Clinical Engineering * eHealth * Medical Image Processing * Public Health / Standards * Security and Protection of Personal Data * Telemedicine For more information on our competencies and services that we can provide, please download our brochure [[http://www.tudor.lu/cms/henritudor/content.nsf/id/Telechargements_plaquettes?opendocument&language=en|HERE]] or look at the examples listed below. {{:wiki_spacer_image.png|}} ---- {{:wiki_spacer_image.png|}} {{:wiki_spacer_image.png|}} {{ santec_competence_triangle3.png }} ---- ==== Advanced ICT applied to Healthcare ==== * **Hospital and medical information systems** * Specialized applications for medical or hospital departments * Electronic hospital / medical record * Medical databases * **Communication & interoperability** * Interfaces and communication between IT applications * Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) * Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) * Standardisation in healthcare (HL7, DICOM, LOINC, IHE, …) * **Secure Communication Networks** * **Mobile and wireless computing** * **Software development, quality & testing** * **Free and Open Source Software** ==== eHealth ==== * ** National Patient related Records & Applications (Personal health, Medical Imaging, laboratory, ePrescription...)** * ** Processes and interconnections of the «care chain»** * ** Technical and semantical interoperability** * ** Managed care, including disease management** * ** Telemedicine & Home monitoring** * ** Patient identification, informed consent & safety** * ** Smart cards in healthcare** ==== Clinical engineering ==== * ** Medical devices and hospital equipment** * ** Terminologies, classification and codification systems** * ** Clinical intelligence and performance** * ** Clinical processes & pathways** * ** Expert systems and clinical decision support (CDS)** * ** Intelligent sensors (with the LTI)** * ** Hospital management** * ** Logistics and organisation (with the LTI)** * ** Quality assurance (with the LTI)** ==== Public Health ==== * ** Health economical evaluations** * ** Evaluation of the impact of new methods, systems and/or solutions on quality of life and costs** * ** Analysis of use and efficiency of new methods, systems and/or solutions** * ** Market and requirement studies** * ** Cost-benefit and socio-economical studies** ==== Image processing ==== * ** General image processing** * ** Medical imaging** * RIS-PACS * Imaging modalities * DICOM standard and DICOM tools * Image quality * Image visualisation and interpretation * ** Bio-medical imaging** ==== Security and Protection of Personal Data ==== * ** Information security** * Data privacy : Anonymization & Pseudonimization * Access rights & roles * Data & database encryption * ** User Authentication** * Authentication, Authorization & Accounting * 2-factor authentication system * Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) & Electronic Signature * ** Computing security** * Physical access protection (locks, racks, server room, etc.) * Secure Operation Systems * Protection from Malware * Logging & tracking * ** Network security** * Anti-intrusion, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) * Firewalls * Monitoring * Communications encryption * Demilitarized Zones (DMZ) * ** Organizational security** * Security Policies * Security Incident Management * Audit * ** Business Continuity** * Availability, back-up * Disaster recovery * Key Escrow
