====== Mammo - Digitalisation of the National Breast Cancer Screening Program ======

The Mammography program aims at tracking as soon as possible breast cancers of the women from 50 to 69 years. Each woman is invited every two years to go in a hospital to have a mammography. A first reading is carried out by a radiologist of the hospital, one second by a radiologist of the Service du Programme Mammographie. If the results diverge, one third reading is organized jointly. In the event of suspicion of cancer, complementary examinations are recommended and a follow-up is implemented.

__Phase 1__ : Prepare the communication between the RIS at the Ministère de la Santé and the RIS in the hospitals

    * Analysis of RIS-PACS systems existing in the hospitals Technical solutions definition to allow each hospital to communicate with the RIS at the Ministère de la Santé
    * Technical solution to allow the RIS at the Ministère de la Santé to communicate with the RIS at the hospitals
    * Cost study
    * Preparation of a proposal describing the investment required to connect the hospitals to the Ministère de la Santé for UCM 


__Phase 2__ : Prepare the introduction of the digital mammography
    * Assist the Ministère de la Santé in PACS installation
    * Assist the hospitals
    


**Results** 

The Service of the Mammographie Program installed a RIS/PACS system (Radiology Information System/Picture Archiving and Communication System) to manage the invitations and the patients records. This system communicates with UCM (invitations, national file) and with RIS/PACS at the hospitals.
