To faciliate the collection of dose values for all participants, the PERMOS - Performance and Monitoring Server for Clinical Data - is developed. This web technology based software allows the collection of the necessary data in an easy manner.

Participants of the study will receive login information as soon as they are available.

At the beginning of Computed Tomography (CT) the primary concern was to develop new standards for scanning protocols. The priority for dose aspects was low. This has changed: today CT contributes up to 50% of the resultant collective dose from diagnostic radiology. It is recognised as a high dose modality.

Optimisation 2008

The reference dose values of Luxembourg are based on the European Guidelines on Quality Criteria for Computed Tomography EUR 16262 of the year 1999. Today the reference dose values of 1999 are not representative, because in the last years the technical development of computed tomography was a rapid progress. Before new refernence dose values are fixed, an optimisation is performed to ensure optimal dose values for the most important protocols.
