Users CARA

Professional user aspects for the eSanté-CARA application. Aspects métiers relatifs à l’application eSanté-CARA

Challenges

It is important for the project that the future users of the application have their word to say about what will be realized.

• Requirements for the system • Usability of the system

Prior to offering electronic prescription, its content will have to be decided to improve the quality and readability of the prescription. Prescribers and radiology specialists are concerned.

To improve the quality and readability of the radiology report, its structure will have to be defined and normalized. The same will apply to the granularity of data present in the report. Prescribers, radiology specialists and ATM’s are concerned and may be even other health professionals like physiotherapists.

Today most hospitals archive all images for 2nd lecture, this is not optimal from a technical point of view. It has to be clarified if it is possible to define relevant images for 2nd lecture and to define a selection procedure. It is difficult to join all images to the report. It should be enough to join images (illustrative images) having allowed establishing the diagnostic. The concept of illustrative images has to be defined as well its selection procedure. Mostly radiologists and ATM’s will be concerned.

Objectives

Main Objectives are :

Have a feedback from users (Prescribers, ATM’s physiotherapists(?), specialists in radiology) on the requirements Have a feedback from users on the conformance to the requirements and the usability of the system (workflow, GUI). Define the content and structure of the future eprescription for radiology exams Define first the structure and then the granularity of the radiology report. Define the concepts of illustrative and relevant images and their selection procedure.

Methodology

Main steps :

1. Have a feedback from members of the WG (specialists in radiology, prescribers, ATM’s physiotherapists(?),) on the requirements

The document with requirements will be presented to the users WG during a workshop. They will get the document. The members of the WG can give their feedback on these elements.

2. Have a feedback from members of the WG on the usability of the system (workflow, GUI).

The pilote will be presented to the members of the WG to get their comments. Test accounts should be provided. Their remarks are reported to the developers for correction and improvement. Requirements not foreseen for a V1 will be noted for a future version.

3. Define the content of the future ePrescription for radiology exams

Actual prescriptions will be analyzed: content, structure. Good practices from abroad will be available for the discussion as input. Legal aspects to consider are provided to the WG before discussions. Workshop with members of the WG will be organized to elaborate in consent the content, the structure, the granularity of information of the eprescription. Change management aspects will be treated as well during workshops in order to draw up an action list for change management on eprescription workflow Outcome from the workshops will be crosschecked for legal aspects. 4. Define the structure and data granularity of the radiology report

Actual reports will be analyzed: content, structure. Good practices from abroad will be available for the discussion as input. Legal aspects to consider are provided to the WG before discussions. Workshop with members of the WG will be organized to elaborate in consent the content, the structure, the granularity of information of the report. Change management aspects will be treated as well during workshops in order to draw up an action list for change management on the renewed report. Outcome from the workshops will be crosschecked for legal aspects.

5. Analyze the actual doing of hospitals for images Analyze and determine good practices from abroad. Legal aspects to consider are provided to the WG before discussions. Discuss with ethical commission. Workshop with members of the WG will be organized to define elaborate in consent the concepts of illustrative and relevant images and their selection procedure. Change management aspects will be treated as well during workshops in order to draw up an action list for change management on the imaging process and official regulation. Outcome from the workshops will be crosschecked for legal aspects.
