The idea Our team has conducted in collaboration and assignment of the Ministry of Health in Luxembourg - Department of Radiation Protection a dose study to determine reference dose levels (RDL) for the six most used protocols in Luxembourg in the year 2007 and 2009 (see project DOSEDEO). During this work, which involved a lot of manual work based on paper questionnaires the idea was born to use the DICOM Header (see figure 1: DICOM Header example)) to collect the data in these questionnaires.
PerMoS Software Framework From this initial idea we developed a scalable distributed architecture to analyze DICOM header data. The systems heart is the DICOM Header Database. This database is filled by the PerMoS Upload Client. This client can act as a DICOM Node and psydonomised data is collected. This data can be further processed using dedicated applications using the PerMoS Administration Client. Data Mining Frameworks can then be used to prepare the final data.
