Mammography

The Mammography program aims at tracking as soon as possible breast cancers of the women from 50 to 69 years. Each woman is invited every two years to go in a hospital to have a mammography. A first reading is carried out by a radiologist of the hospital, one second by a radiologist of the Service du Programme Mammographie. If the results diverge, one third reading is organized jointly. In the event of suspicion of cancer, complementary examinations are recommended and a follow-up is implemented.

Descriptive

The Service of the Mammographie Program is going to install a RIS system (Radiology Information System) to manage the invitations and the patients records. This system will communicate with UCM (invitations, national file). One second phase will relate to the communication with RIS at the hospitals.

Within this framework, the Ministère de la Santé asked the CRP Henri Tudor to prepare the connection of the hospitals to RIS at the Service du Programme Mammographie. The RIS instrallation at the Service du Programme Mammographie and its integration with the RIS of the hospitals is the first stage of a project which aims to prepare the introduction of the digital mammography in Luxembourg.
