- If you already have GECAMed installed on your computer, please make SURE to download the GECAMed Updater, and NOT the installer again!
- Before upgrading from an older to a newer GECAMed version we strongly recommend to take a moment and make a full backup (database and files). Any number of things can go wrong during an upgrade operation, resulting in application failure and possibly even data loss. Also it is not excluded that the new realease introduces blocking errors, performance bottlenecks or simply contains featues you do not like at all.
With a full backup it is always possible to restore the system to it's exact state at the moment when the backup has been made. See sections Datensicherung and Datenbank Wiederherstellung on how to perform backup and restore operations. - If you using the installer for Window, please make SURE that you unzip the zip file to a extra folder before run the setup.exe!
Please consult us for updating Linux installations.
There are currently problems when installing GECAMed on Mac OSX 10.6. A fully automatic installation with the installer is therefore no longer possible. Upgrading from earlier GECAMed versions may also not work.
We do our best to find a solution, but in the meanwhile we cannot guaranty the proper installation and functionning of GECAMed on Mac OSX 10.6.
There are also a few known problems when instaling GECAMed on MAC OSX 10.5., but in this case workarounds are available. See Installation Fails on Mac OS-X in our FAQ section.

For the server or single computer installation:
Intel Pentium 4 with 3GHz or AMD Athlon XP 2000+ with minimum 2 GB RAM and 80 GB HD. Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Win 7, Mac OS X 10.5, Linux. Java 1.5 JRE, Webbrowser, Microsoft Office or OpenOffice, Screensize 1280×1024 if used as client too.
For the clients:
State of the art desktop-computer or Laptop (Mac oder PC). Minimum 1 GB RAM. OS: Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Win 7, Mac 10.5, Linux. Java 1.5/1.6., Webbrowser, Microsoft Office or OpenOffice, Screensize 1280×1024
